Toddler Amusement Park

Kate went to a birthday party at an amusement park this weekend.  At first, she wouldn't go on anything.  She liked watching the ponies, and considered a couple rides but was scared.  Finally she settled on these little cars going around in circles.  And then, the birthday girl ran up to her car and climbed in the passenger seat.  That was all it took.  Kate spent the ride laughing loudly, driving crazily and completely happy.  From then on she went from ride to ride with different friends from school.

I've never been to anything like it but it was the best party ever.  These parents went above and beyond.  They bought pizza for the kids, and gave each kid ten tickets (rides were one ticket a ride, except for the ponies).  We got to sit around chatting with parents in the shade while the kids went on the rides.  It was hilarious.  Once I got over the fear of letting her go by herself, it was all good.  One dad said that he spent his 4 year birthday at that very same park!  Woooo weee!  He said nothing has changed.  (good?  huh...)

Here she is with her BFF banging down the gate to the Ferris Wheel

Kate and her friends in the Ferris Wheel.  (No parents!  Yikes!)

Loving the car ride

Considering the horses... She finally decided she wanted to ride one right as we were leaving... something to look forward to next time!

Happy with her classmate riding in circles!
