Various stages of things...
Jacob is sick. Again.
Kate has a sinus infection and the antibiotics are harder on her system than the bug.
I am on the tail end of illness but not sleeping seems to affect my immune system.
Business is booming though which is excellent and work is busy.
Paul is loving the new job and the commute has become his happy podcast time.
Kate had new boots. And that makes everyone happy really.

Fall
An amazing day. Perfect to lie around in the yard and watch some baseball and root for the home team of course...

Trials of Eating
Today, I took both kids to the doctor. Jacob is fine. Kate has a sinus infection. I cancelled my morning for the doctor but had one consultation session over lunch that I was committed to, so I asked the nanny to watch both. Well, got home and Kate was totally exhausted and at wits' end, and did not eat for the nanny and wouldn't eat for me. I see smoothies in her future... Poor kid's throat is bright bright red. There is strep going around her class and I'm hoping we can avoid that...
Such fun in our house! Fall germs I guess!
A little education
My mom send Kate pictures that she glues in a scrapbook. This morning she decided to teach Jacob about his extended family.

mom's office
Got a new couch at work today and Kate went with me to set it up. She decided to do some yoga while we were there.

Tickled silly
Tickled for Jacob, laughs for Kate. These two love each other terribly. Hope it lasts!

Baby soothing
Kate swaddled baby horsey and is bouncing on her ball. (Jacob was most easily burped by bouncing on a big exercise ball.)
Our sweet daughter is engaging in strong tactics to make her emotions clear. An example from yesterday might best illustrate this. I pulled her aside after a tantrum to give Paul a chance to regroup. Kate explained to me what had happened: "i spit on daddy because I was frustrated he said no."
And there you have it.
I can hardly fault her, having worked with enough 30 somethings and older who hit other people for similar complaints.
But yes, we are working on being better at giving her attention during those times she is easy and being good so she doesn't have to resort to stronger tactics.

Icing Down
My aunt is in town and decided today would be Kate's fake birthday since she would be gone for the real one. So today consisted of Kate getting presents, her toenails painted and cupcakes. She seemed to favor the icing...
